HEY AMERICANS IN YOUR 40’S AND 50’S WHO LOST YOUR JOBS BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC “GO F**K YOURSELVES!”

Hey, Americans in Your 40’s and 50’s who lost your job because the pandemic, Go fuck yourselves!

Yeah.

You guessed it.

I’m in my late 40’s and was let go, NOT FIRED, because of the COVID-19 virus. And Trump, along with the Republicans, have absolutely no plan on how to solve this.

Why should they have had a plan? Maybe Trump thinks it will disappear. Like COVD-19, It will be a miracle. Now we know that was bullshit. The only miracle performed has been the miracle for big-business.

For years, big corporations have always been trying to figure out ways to cut costs and not have to sacrifice bonuses or profits.

Why not be proactive? Use the virus to start getting rid of those expensive older employees.

Yeah, you know the ones. They expect more, like raises. Now with letting them go because of a pandemic, the robots can be put on hold.

But wait, big-business is looking to those with higher educations. You bet they are. Those college kids looking for work are so far in debt they’ll work for shit wages. In fact, 52% of young college graduates are living at home. They can do that! It’s not like they can buy houses or have kids.

Besides, how could anyone expect CEO’s to “take one for the team” and reduce their salary or NOT buy that second jet? Surely you jest?

What’s unreal is that the same people who called bullshit on King George screaming “no taxation without representation” have now willingly become present-day serfs.

Employees appreciate that their employers have found it in their hearts to give them jobs during this time, or keep them at their jobs. More importantly, business knows employees will “take one for the team” by accepting a cut in salary. It’s just like the serfs who appreciated the lords letting them live on the land and work it for them.

Which gets us back to my argument.

I’m in my late 40’s.

Because I’ve been employed for seventeen years, I missed all of the changes that have transformed the workplace.

I did my job well.

I worked the extra hours when needed.

I did what I was supposed to do as an employee.

Obviously, that turned out well. What am I going to do now?

Oh, and just as a reminder, I’m not the only one.

So let me rephrase the question.

What do WE do now?

It’s not that we are not willing to work.

In fact, I was able to get a full-time job. And because I wasn’t up to date with my skills, for the first time since I started working as a 15-year-old, I was let go. Okay, I was fired.

Why?

I didn’t know how to use the tools needed for a job I was qualified for seventeen years ago!

Well, here’s a news flash for the “powers that be.”

The 40 and 50 year olds aren’t going anywhere! Literally!

What we need is help playing catch-up. If we are to survive and be productive to the country, we need to be retrained for this new world we now face because Trump lied about the COVID-19 virus and how devastating it would be.

We 40 and 50 year-olds can’t even go back to school.

We can’t even afford our mortgages and may be looking at becoming homeless. For us 40 and 50 somethings, there are no parental basements to live in.

Besides, we’re supposed to be saving the basement for our kids saddled with college debt. They thought having an education would give them a better life. At least that’s what they were told.

So how is the great American system going to deal with this rising tide of homeless, and unemployed age group?

Here’s a thought.

Maybe the American Government should dust off an already proven solution invented back in the 1930's by a President who actually cared and promised a new deal.

Remember, when Trump said that tackling our failing infrastructure would be easy to fix? Well, don’t you think now is the time for Trump and the Republicans to prove it?

Put us 40 and 50 year olds to work doing service to our country and to ourselves! There are bridges to repair, schools to upgrade, and green power to install.

But I know I’m asking too much. If the last three years have taught us anything, we already know how this is going to be handled. If Trump wins the 2020 election, he’ll shown us how he will handle our misfortune like the way he handled the 200,000 DEAD AMERICANS from the Corona Virus he lied to us about.
